FIFA 20 is finally here, I have been waiting and waiting for this to finally arrive. Pro Evolution Soccer have for me been closing up the gap on FIFA for the last year, is this the year when FIFA really proves who is the best on soccer games? I just love FIFA!
In the last years, we have had the opportunity to follow Alex Hunter in Journey. (FIFA’s take on cinematic story mode) That´s gone! So what is the new storyline? Well, it´s the new thing ‘Volta’. Go deep into street soccer and underground matches. 3vs3 4v4 (with or without goalkeeper) 5vs5 (with or without a goalkeeper)
So the whole thing starts with a tryout for the team J10 with the character you create and you start up playing some games to win your spot on the team, and then you join the first tournament. The story builds it up that you win it and at the cutscene, your coach and the big star gets a serious injury and is out of the competition for the big cup that they really wanted to win. The team totally lost it and felt they would never win it now and just gave up. So you end up alone with only yourself and a goalkeeper. You have to win and recruit new players.
You also have Career Mode, it gives you a small storyline, but i will talk more about it later on. I really enjoy the cutscenes of Volta and it reminds me of the old FIFA Street.
It just gets better and better! The stadium looks real, the crowds are starting to feel more real, but the players? Just freaking awesome. You totally see the difference in how they look at match start and the match end. The sweating and their hair look like a mess. The rain looks real and you see it on the animations as well.
Still wish to see more stadium effects, some more pyro graphics, and an even more engaging crowd…
At the UI part, I think the game is still using a simple system for everything. The menu is easy to understand, it is separated into small sub-categories so that you can easily find the setting and all the things you can do.
I still think they should change the music system, too much bad song and I ended up with removing 6 songs away from the playlist.
The overall gameplay is amazing, the game really feels more real and the animations are pretty amazing. The game engine provides so much more real goalkeepers, defenders, and dribbling.
So the game lets you try out different gameplay modes and I will talk about every one of them and give you a score on each of them. I have tested it all and someone is good and someone is just so so bad.
Regular kick-off matches that let you play different modes as cup finals, Champions Leauge finals, and Volta Football with friends and against AI.
Nothing really new, it’s clean
Just a big NO! Career Mode is split into two different areas, Manager Career, and Player Career
So what´s new?

- Facing Media
- Player conversation
There are really no big changes from FIFA 19 to FIFA 20 on the career mode side. just the same old with some new layout could have been done so much more with!
Fifa Ultimate Team
So FUT allows you to build and manage your own club.
You can use any players and managers, and a collection of various types of cards such as the club items to play offline and online matches and earn rewards to improve your FUT club. FUT is the most popular mode in FIFA and I can totally understand why!
So what´s new?
- Couch Play – Play against friends’ squads, the TOTW, Clubs, select community teams, and more alongside up to four friends.
- Play Online – With this feature, you can take on a random member of the wider FUT community online.
- Play a Friend – Play against a friend and their Ultimate Team online in standard or House Rules.
I really love FUT, but I think EA focus too much on earning more money and forget about the rest of the game. The FUT is good but the money is really expensive if you are gonna buy FIFA coins.
Still, love the game, but don´t like the have most money buy setup.
The players are doing what you expect, with the running feeling natural and the buttons being responsive on certain points, but found some issues with a couple of the shoots options where the buttons and the player do not cooperate that great. It´s easy to learn dribble combinations as well.
Well, it´s soccer, if you are a fan like me, you will play it for hours and hours.
This game gives you battle with friends and, of course, a lot of fun with Volta.
And if you are a FUT fan like myself, you will have a lot more hours. And if you get bored, try out some house rules games with friends. I love them!

User Review( votes)
FIFA is still the number one at soccer games and I think they will continue that for a decade. Still feel they have a lot to improve and the career mode needs a huge improvement.
I wish they were creating a moment where you also can be the referee or something like that, that would have been awesome
I know they will come with updates, but there needs to be done something. And please give us a real Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ingame FIFA20!
