Borderlands 2 VR has been officially been announced, and I can’t be more excited!
It will be released for the PlayStation VR 14th of December this year.

Hello, travelers! Today marks the first day that we can finally talk about Borderlands 2 VR! It’s a moment we think will have fans joy-puking their faces off.

It all starts December 14, when Borderlands 2 VR launches on PS VR. And we didn’t just cram Borderlands into a headset and call it a day – we did copious research into how VR plays best to update the experience so you can now fully sink your eyes into the wild and mayhem-filled world of Pandora with new VR-specific mechanics and skills! – Brian Burleson, Producer Gearbox

Not only do we get the whole Borderlands experience, but also a few new features exclusive to the VR version such as;
*BAMF (BadAss Mega Fun Time) Activating BAMF Time will give you the speed and reflexes of a rabid skag, allowing you to dodge bullets, pull off 360 no-scope headshots, and even use your Action Skill to fight off hordes of bandits, bullymongs, and whatever else Pandora might throw at you.
*All original four character with added BAMF Time upgrades to previous abilities
*Updated co-op skills such as Maya’s “Res” ability, which now is called “Empathy” – causing Phaselock to deplete half your current health, damaging enemies based on how much health you lost, and doubling healing during BAMF Time.
*First person perspective while driving, by using the PlayStation Move controller and moving your head.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker – Review

0

Name: Pathfinder: Kingmaker
Developer: Owlcat
Publisher: Deep Silver
Released: 25.09.2018
Platforms: PC
Reviewed on: PC
Acquired: A copy of this game was provided by a publisher for review purpose

I’m a geek, and proud of it. I have spent countless of hours playing D&D (Dungeons & Dragons) with my friends in dark rooms, making tales as we went along. When new games based on the D&D System is released, it excited me quite a lot! It is one of the most solid RPG-systems ever made. Knowing the mechanics is just one part of the puzzle, though. The game has to be good as well.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker must not be confused with Pathfinder: Online. The system may be the same in the background, but it is developed by two completely different companies. Pathfinder: Kingmaker is based on a campaign in the original paperback Pathfinder-Game. I’ve never played the paperback version of this story, so the story is new to me.

Story

Pathfinder: Kingmaker is set in the Stolen Lands, a large region in the River Kingdoms. Heroes are gathered to help take down the bandit ruler currently holding the area, to bring peace and prosperity to the Stolen Lands. Your mission is to take over and build a Kingdom from scratch in this turbulent area.

As with most RPG’s, this is only the main mission and you will encounter several other quite large storylines along the way. All of your companions got their story as well, and will sometimes talk to your character about their wishes and needs.

pathfinder2

It is hard to know whether to blame the somewhat “standard RPG storyline” on the original adventure for the paperback game, or if it is the development team in Pathfinder: Kingmaker that is to blame, but the constant feeling of “I have seen this before” is very much present in loads of the material. I can’t say that it is bad, it just lacks originality.
6/10

Graphics

The graphics of the game are quite decent, and in some ways almost retro-inspired, something that is quite suiting for a game like this. You have the proper “Fog of war” that allow you to only see details that are right around you, everything else is darkened. You have the decent spell-graphics and the loading arts that you will be allowed to inspect in great detail.

Pathfinder4

Basically, it’s a high-resolution version of the early 2000 RPG’s that were released, like Baldur’s Gate and Neverwinter Night. Luckily, games like this don’t rely on impressive graphics, and it is still visually pleasing, although a bit boring and dull at times due to the lack of variation.
7/10

Gameplay

Where do I start here… We all know the mechanic behind this game (D&D) is sound enough and where many games try to spare the player of the complex rules, numbers and countless stats, Pathfinder: Kingmaker lets the player in on all the little secrets. Creating a character here can easily set you back an hour or two, if you wish to read the information about the stats, all the different feats, checking how the class you chose will evolve while leveling and so on.

While I personally appreciate a good number-crunching session, the amount of details in Pathfinder: Kingmaker was almost overwhelming. I can see how someone not familiar with games like this can be properly confused and unsettled in their choices.

pathfinder-kingmaker

There was a whole smorgasbord full of small errors in the game I had made detailed notes about, only to discover that the developers had patched them all away yesterday and today. The rudeness! (Joking, I always appreciate developers fixing things fast)

One thing that also has to be mentioned, because it turned out to be my biggest problem with the game, is the pace. Everything takes aaaaages. Well, not really, but compared to what we all have gotten used to, the loading is slow and the 3 seconds it takes to cast a spell feels like an eternity, the characters walk slow and not to mention the progress in the game is quite slow. I might be extremely impatient, but I stick with my judgment of it being… Slow.

Pathfinder3

Controls

The controls in the game feel quite okay, nothing spectacular. You use the mouse a lot, clicking both for attacking and moving and the keyboard can more or less be put aside if you choose.

The mouse can be a bit annoying at times, though. Especially managing to click on the camp you made for resting instead of selecting one of your comrades and looting can prove to be more of a challenge than you’d like. All in all, I know there are limits of ways to improve. The accuracy just has to go get a bit better.
7/10

Pathfinder5

Replay Value

This is probably one of the best parts of the game, because you can choose to follow different paths at different times and end up with a different outcome. You can play through the game as a completely different class, and get a whole new experience. And the chance of you actually managing to find everything or explore everything fully is quite small, and you will encounter new things on your playthroughs.

This gives the game a nice edge where this is concerned. I also know for a fact that there are a LOT more in the Pathfinder universe that has not even been mentioned in this game, and I am looking forward to seeing what will be added as DLC or in patches, and how much we have to pay to get our hands on it.

Inferno is ready for Soulcalibur VI

0

Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe is delighted to confirm that Inferno, the living incarnation of Soul Edge, will return in Soulcalibur VI – launching on 19th of October, 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Inferno is the embodiment of Soul Edge’s will, a vile amalgamation of all the warriors’ souls it has claimed. Its motives for being are unknown. Some say it simply follows a desire to fight, maim, and gather souls. The eerie fire that surrounds Inferno is the result of the countless souls the sword has reaped being burned to sustain it.

Harvested from the souls it has collected, Inferno possesses a deep knowledge of all fighting techniques – allowing it to use any weapon style with a phenomenal degree of skill.

Though its power defies standard means of measurement – it easily transcends that of any of its previous vessels. Although Inferno’s look changes with every incarnation, rest assured that it is stronger and more brutal than ever!

Jiraiya joins Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker

0

Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe is pleased to announce the addition of Jiraiya to Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Players that have purchased the Season Pass or that purchase the DLC1, will tomorrow unlock Jiraiya as a Master Character – giving them access to his move set, costume and weapons for their own in-game avatars. Additionally, Jiraiya will also be playable as a standalone character for free to all players.

One of the Hidden Leaf Village’s most powerful ninjas, Jiraiya brings some of his most powerful signature moves to the battle. Bring Down the House Jutsu calls upon a gigantic frog from the sky, which inflicts damage across a vast area and knocks back opponents. Another move, Ninja Art: Needle Jizo, sees Jiraiya harden his hair to create needle armour. This skill can be used for both defense and offense as it negates incoming attacks and inflicts damage in return.

Green Hell – Early Access Review

0

Name: Green Hell
Developer: Creepy Jar
Publisher: Creepy Jar
Platforms: PC
Reviewed on: PC
Early Access Released: 28.08.2018
Initial Release Date: TBA
Acquired: A copy of this game was provided from publisher for review purpose

Green Hell is a survivor game, set in the amazonian rain forest, At first glance, the lush forest is a beautiful and tranquil place, however the struggle to stay alive is quite real. How long will you be able to endure in the wild?

Crafting the items you need, scavenging the forest for materials to help you stay alive and well, both physically and mentally, this game will offer a lot of challenges.  In a forest of Survival games – some quite excellent at that, can this small title stand out and make a mark for itself? Let’s find out!

The Good

The very first thing I have to say about this game is that it looks excellent. The graphics are very well made and details such as water and lighting effects are excellent. Some areas like the tented area and so on lacks some details, but this may be fixed later on.

The small part of the story that was available for play here was meant to be a tutorial for the game, teaching you how to do basic things like making a fire and tend to your wounds. This is a great way to get the hang of the basics, and works really well. I can’t say anything more about the story, really, because there is basically nothing to say about it. It will be released fully at a later date.

Another thing I noticed quite fast is that there is quite a variety of dangers out there to discover, and I bet that the game itself will not be easy at all. More or less anything in the jungle want you dead, and if you are not careful, most things can (and probably will at one time or another) kill you.

The Bad

It is very obvious that this game is still in early access. There are quite a few things that I found to be either annoying or just… weird.

The main thing that has to be addressed is the crafting system. It’s such a huge part of the game and it lacks intuitivity and feels quite hard to use at times. Maybe it is because it is quite realistic in the way the materials are sorted in your backpack or just my lack of short-term memory, but navigating to the items needed and getting it right was more troublesome than necessary.

Another thing I noticed is that is not at all obvious WHAT kills you all the time. In the stream you can see above, I was killed by a scorpion that I hardly noticed, even when looking for it. Sure, I heard something, but I had no idea what it was or where it was. Again I can take part of the blame here, and I am sure that issues like this will be sorted out before the game is released.

The main issue with the game is its lack of originality. I can’t really see what makes this game stand out and shine compared to other games that are established on the market. I hope that by the time the full game comes out, more will be added, but as of right now it is just a very beautiful game that uses things we have all seen before many times.
