Sunday afternoon the crew at Games Done Quick kicked off the winter edition of the bi-annual speedrunning marathon Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ). For the next almost 160 hours (!) they will be streaming a variety of games and probably maintain the top spot on the Twitch home page. Proceeds from donations go to the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
Speedrunning is the art of playing games really, really fast. This often involves exploiting bugs, quirks and holes in the games as well as immense mechanical skill from the runners. Doing it on stream while entertaining an audience of tens of thousands of viewers is no less impressive.
The schedule spans Sunday 1730 (CET) to next Sunday at 0900 and literally hundreds of games (or maybe slightly less than a hundred, I didn’t count). The full schedule can be found here.
