PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds seems to be heading to the PlayStation 4, as PUBG developer Bluehole is said to be in talks with Sony about a port for the PS4. This according to a report on Bloomberg, claiming Microsoft only has a timed exclusivity for the Xbox One.
“Chang says his company has had talks with all of the major console companies about bringing PUBG to a broader audience,” the report reads. “Microsoft Corp. will launch the title exclusively on Xbox later this year. Bluehole is in talks with Sony about introducing a version for the PlayStation after that.”
According to Brendan Green the possible release for more platforms will not mean an increase in price, in an interview with gamesindustry, he had this to say;
“We’re happy. $30 is a good price for what you’re getting, and this is a game that could last for five or ten years. You’re buying into something bigger than just a year-long game.”
Heavily inspired by the movie Battle Royale, PUBG puts 100 players on an island, where they need to gather supplies, before they fight against each other, while the safe zone on the map becomes smaller and smaller every few minutes, and only one person (or team) can come out with a chicken dinner in hand.
