All I knew about 11-11 Memories Retold before the keynote and hands-on session at Gamescom, was that Elijah Wood (known as Frodo in The Lord of the Rings) has one of the main parts in this game. As said, Elijah Wood plays the role as Harry. A young photographer from Canada who ends up going into the war, not any war, but The Great War. (World War 1)

But at the same day, a German technician is told that his son is missing in action on the front.
In this story we will experience how they discovers the reality of war, the struggle to preserve their humanity during this disastrous events. One young photographer and one father looking for his son will cross paths during this war, and at the 11th day at 11am of the 11th month of year 1918, they will face the biggest decision of their lives.
Even though this is a fictional story, Aadman and DigixArt aims to bring us a story with a lot of emotions. The few minutes I managed to test at Gamescom, was enough to get me really involved into the story, and that was just the first chapter of the game. I can say at once, that this game might not be for everyone. The whole experience here is this heavy emotion full story of two people going into the war. The graphics is set as if you would watch a moving oil painting, and the gameplay is very simple. Move around, take pictures, avoiding gunfire, doing simple task like bringing water and ammo for your fellow soldiers. Just in Man of Medan and other games in this genre, I struggle with the camera a few times. My character was too close to the camera, couldn’t move around because the camera got stuck on one place etc.

11-11 Memories Retold is set to release for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on the 9th of November 2018.
