Guide – Best Call of Duty: Modern Warfare PC and Console settings

Best PC Settings

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been out for a few months now, and the endless amount of various settings a PC player can use is vast. So what is the best setting you can use?

Well, that depends on what you want really. Do you like to enjoy high-quality graphics? Or do you play competitively? I like to play competitively and need all the frames and performance I can get out of my hardware. So what are my personal best PC settings to achieve this?

Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit (SP1) or Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-4340 or AMD FX-6300
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon HD 7950
  • HDD: 175 GB

First of all, we need to clear out the basic stuff to gain the most performance.Discord_logo

Alright, let’s head into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s settings in-game.
In Keyboard & Mouse settings you put into your personal preferences.

General Settings

Set the Field of view to 125, leave the rest to default.

Graphics

Display Mode – Fullscreen
Display Monitor – Default
Display Adapter – Your graphics card
Screen Refresh Rate – Set it to your monitor’s native refresh rate. Sadly I use a 60Hz monitor, so I’ll set it to 60. But if you have a 144Hz or above I recommend you set it to that.
Render Resolution – 100
Aspect Ratio – Automatic
Sync Every Frame (VSync) – Disabled
Custom Framerate Limit – Unlimited
NVIDIA Highlights – Disabled
SDR Color Space – Set it to 2.2 (sRGB) if you use a monitor or 2.4 (BT1886) if you use a TV
Texture Resolution – Normal
Texture Filter Anisotropic – High
Particle Quality – High
Bullet Impacts – Enabled
Tessellation – All
Shadow Map Resolution – Normal
Cache Spot Shadows – Enabled
Cache Sun Shadows – Enabled
Particle Lighting – Normal
DirectX Raytracing – Disabled
Ambient Occlusion – Disabled
Screen Space Reflection (SSR) – Low
Anti-Aliasing – Off
Depth of Field – Enabled
Filmic Strenght – 1.00
World Motion Blur – Disabled
Weapon Motion Blur – Disabled
Film Grain – 0.00

Audio

Set the Audio Mix on “Home Theater”, leave the rest to default.

I hope you enjoy these settings and do not hesitate to leave a comment if you find an even better way to set up your Call of Duty PC settings.

Best Console Settings

Sadly console players don’t have all of the glory settings the PC player has. But there are a few things console players can adjust to enhance the gameplay and framerate.
If we don’t mention it in this list, leave to default.

Controller

Horizontal and Vertical Stick Sensitivity – Stay between 4-8
Controller vibration – Off
Aim Assist – Precision
Aim Response Curve Type – Dynamic
Movement Slide Behavior – Tap

General Settings

Brightness – Stay on higher than average brightness, adjust the settings on both your monitor and in-game settings to find a solid brightness level.
Film Grain – 0.00
World and Weapon Motion Blur: 0.00 (off)

Audio

I recommend using “Boost High” or “Home Theater”. But most likely this is a more a personal preference.
