The Battle Royale genre has grown to a huge success for many developers these days. We might say that the whole idea comes from the old asian Battle Royale movies and the more modern Hunger Games.

But as we already know PUGB developers (Bluehole) has hinted towards a lawsuit against Fornite developers (Epic Games) because of copyright issues.

“We filed the suit to protect our copyright in January,” said the official.

When “Fortnite” was first launched, the game only had the “Save the World” mode, at which gamers build walls and defended it. But in September, the firm added the free-to-play “Battle Royale” portion into the game, provoking a plagiarism controversy and allegations that it copied “Battlegrounds” items and user interface (UI). ” – Korean Times

For now there is only one lawsuit in Southern Korea.
