Liquid State delayed

A small indie developer team named Vertebrae Entertainment is currently developing a new game called Liquid State.

It all started as a school project, and the plans for further developing and a mid 2018 release was next. But developing games is a hard business, especially in Norway. And Liquid State is in no different waters there, sadly.

Vertebrae Entertainment has announced that the game is currently set in hiatus, that means the original release window has been delayed.

“A while ago we made an update about how we’d resumed development on Liquid State and that we’d keep you all updated… And then we didn’t update for over a month. Sorry!

When that post went up around the beginning of September we were planning on resuming development for full, with a schedule that involved working constantly throughout the rest of the year. Our plan was to finish the game early/mid 2018, after securing funding that would let us work full-time from October until the game was ready.

Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to get funding, and our biggest opportunity of the year has already passed. Even with funding, Liquid State would take a while to finish. Because of our financial situation, we don’t have the time or money to finish the game as planned.

And because of that, we’ve decided to put Liquid State’s development on hiatus – at least while we sort things out.

This does not mean we’re gone, though. The hiatus is temporary, and we’ll be sure to let you know if anything happens. Even without funding, we’ll be able to work on the game part-time after our personal financial situations have improved, at the cost of releasing the game later. Vertebrae’s social medias might be quiet for a while, but we’ll get an update out during the spring.

Also, one more thing… Though Liquid State’s on hiatus, we’ve been working on some smaller side projects recently that you may or may not see more of soon. If so, we might post them here.

That’s all for now. As always, feel free to hit us up via email or social media if you’ve got any questions. Or if you just want to talk. We don’t mind.”
