Presentation by the developer + hands on
Space Hulk: Deathwing released on PC last year, but what is Space Hulk?
Developed by Streum On Studio, co-produced by Cyanide Studios and published by Focus Home Interactive, the game is created in Unreal Engine 4.
Space Hulk is a first person shooter of Games Workshop’s classic board game, that means this is a tactical shooter, but you might already know that already and wondering what’s new from Gamescom?
Space Hulks is actually coming to consoles within the last quarter of 2017. There will be added a new mode with random missions, spawns and enemies. An all new class will be added as well called Interrogator Chaplain. You can earn ingame currency to buy different kinds of loot, but there is one thing they are very strict about; there will be no minis transactions!.
PC players will get all the enhanced features and content in a series of free updates.
First Impression
I got the chance to try the game a little before the session was over, and the gameplay itself is very smooth and gently on the controls. Design and visuals gives u the creep when walking around hallways or entering new rooms, as enemies are continuing attacking you all the time. The spawn rate of enemies is endless, so you have to keep pushing against your target. But sadly if you’re a loner like me sometimes you’ll notice that the AI in this game isn’t something the developers has focused a lot of attention on, and that is something they also admit. Space Hulk is meant to be played with friends or other people to get that tactical and strategic feeling.
