Nominerte til The Game Awards 2021 har blitt annonsert med Deathloop, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, It Takes Two og Psychonauts 2 med flest nominasjoner.
Årets Game of the Year-nominerte er Deathloop, It Takes Two, Metroid Dread, Psychonauts 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart og Resident Evil Village. I kategorien Best Performance inkluderer de nominerte Giancarlo Esposito fra Far Cry 6, Jason E. Kelley og Ozioma Akagha fra Deathloop, Erika Mori fra Life is Strange: True Colors og Maggie Robertson fra Resident Evil Village.
I år er Xbox Game Studios og Bethesda den mest nominerte utgiveren med 20 nominasjoner etterfulgt av Sony Interactive Entertainment med 11 nominasjoner, og Square Enix og EA med 10 nominasjoner hver.

I 2020 så The Game Awards 83 millioner livestreams, en økning på 84 % fra år til år.
