Warner Bros. and TT Games showcased their upcoming title LEGO DC Super Villains at Gamescom. With that a story trailer as well, showing off Darkseid and Mark Hamill as the Joker.
As you might have already figured out, yes this time we enter the roles of our great super villains. The Justice League has disappeared, leaving earth’s protection to a new group self acclaimed “Justice Syndicate”. Renowned DC Super-VIllains from the “Legion of Doom”.
“Embark on an all-new LEGO open-world adventure by becoming the best villain the universe has seen in LEGO DC Super-Villains. For the first time, a LEGO game is giving you and your family the ability to play as a super-villain, unleashing mischievous antics and wreak havoc in an action-packed, hilarious story written in collaboration with DC Comics” – WB Games
Mark Hamill returns as the voice of the Joker, Kevin Conroy as the voice of Batman and Clancy Brown as Lex Luthor just to mention a few. How many characters will be featured in this title you ask? Well, as the developer said it: “We do have approx 150 characters, but in regards of the option to create your own character, I would said millions of different characters”.
You can watch how my hands-on session went below, and see how badly I play these games. The simple puzzle might give you a small headache, because when you finally figure out how to proceed. You’re sitting there two hours later: “Ah man, that was so freakin obvious”.
The familiar LEGO humours is present and funny, yet the controls are easy. And there are a bunch of different well known characters. I got the opportunity to test one of newly announced maps, “Gorilla City”. You can see below how it went.
LEGO DC Super Villains will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC 16th of October 2018.
