Spyro: Reignited Trilogy was at first set to release in just a few weeks, but was unfortunately delayed til 13th, November 2018. But if you are eager to see more of him, we got the chance to play and record three levels from the upcoming trilogy. Stone Hill, Idol Springs and Sunny Villa, each one from the three games available to play through for the first time. We could only choose one, but luckily we were three = one level each.
And I think we could agree that it felt and looked good to play, if we do not count that Chloe complained about not being able to jump in one of the fountains. Which was possible in Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage, but it’s impossible to please everybody I guess.
It’s not hard to see that it has been put in a lot of work in these games, to fully recreate them to modern standards. It’s colourful and looks great and really do Spyro justice. It controls easily and with now support of the second analog stick, makes playing and moving the camera much easier. I chose Sunny Villa since it was from Spyro: Year of the Dragon that I played the most as a kid. And I would constantly play the skating part over and over again, so I was looking forward to doing it again in full HD.
What I have to say after playing, is that it controls and feels like before but with a major overhaul of the visual. Old fans of the series will love it hopefully and will be a perfect opportunity to let the Skylander’s generation of kids have a chance to see what Spyro is really about.
