If you have seen trailers and gameplay for the upcoming release of The Sinking City, you have probably wondered who is behind the creation of this game. Frogwares is an independent game studio, founded in 2000. The Ukrainian studio has two headquarters, one in Kiev and one in Dublin.
The studio is most known for their Adventures of Sherlock Holmes-series, which has sold more than seven million copies worldwide. The first game in the series, Sherlock Holmes: The Mystery of the Mummy, was released in 2007 for PC. In 2009 the game was ported for Nintendo DS. According to Frogwares themselves, the game was a surprise success for the company, having sold over one million copies by 2013.
This year, it’s time for the studio to release their very first open world mystery game in The Sinking City. In this game, you’ll be able to follow the story of private investigator Charles W. Reed in Oakmont Massachusetts, New England in the 1920’s. The game, inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft, will release on 27th June.
