Blizzcon is just two weeks ahead, with that some more intel about the upcoming World of Warcraft Classic demo that will be available for visitors and Virtual Ticket owners at home has been released on a blog post.
From what I learned, the development team is trying to be as faithful as possible to World of Warcraft as it existed back in 2005/2006 before Cataclysm altered the world.
The main focus of the WoW: Classic demo will be on outdoor questing in two selected zones, Barrens for the Horde and Westfall for the Alliance.
“You’ll be able to search for Mankrik’s wife, curse at Ornery Plainstriders for not having beaks, and make a group to kill Defias Pillagers in Moonbrook. You might even get to improvise a new rotation against the Harvest Golems in Farmer Saldean’s farm, since in this era, mechanical creatures may be immune to some of your abilities. We brought all of that back, and we’re as excited about it as you are.” – From the blogpost
Sadly we can’t enjoy this title in full speed just yet, as this will be a demo there will be limitations, such as:
*The Deadmines and Wailing Caverns dungeons won’t be available
*Only dueling in PvP
*Westfall and Barrens are the only zones we can visit.
*The demo will have a time limit
*You’ll start at level 15
The time limit hasn’t been set just yet, players at home will be automatically logged out after the time runs out. The character will still be there when you log back in for a new play session.
“We’re really excited about the BlizzCon WoW Classic Demo, and hope you are too! But we definitely don’t want to send the message that we’re done, because we’re not. There’s still lots of work left do, and the BlizzCon demo is an important step in the process of bringing the original WoW back to life as authentically as we can. This is a great chance for you to see the direction we’re heading and give us some early feedback, so be sure to leave your thoughts in the Classic section of the WoW forums.”
You can find more intel about WoW: Classic in their blog post and dev blog while waiting for the release.
