“Write your own epic odyssey and become a legendary Greek Hero in Assassin’s Creed® Odyssey, an inspiring adventure where you must forge your destiny and define your own path. Influence how history unfolds as you experience a rich and ever-changing world shaped by your decisions.”
This is what is being said about the next Assassin’s Creed game. Ubisoft showcased their new Assassin at Gamescom both on the showfloor and behind closed doors. As always, Ubisoft don’t exactly go unnoticed, they hired cosplayers with fancy outfits of their new characters.

I got the opportunity to test two different missions; one with naval combat and the second one a small roman battle at the beach. Let me answer the one question everyone is asking all the time, is Odyssey a reskin of Origin? – Yes.

In their defence, Odyssey’s development process began at the same time as Origins, and the decision to release Origin first was made. If you loved Origin, you will love this as well, especially if you love the roman era. If you think about it, Odyssey had more time to develop than Origin. So the content and mechanics should be better, it felt like it though during my session at the “beach battle”. The naval combat is intense and somewhat fun at times, but I‘m left with a feeling, why did they add this segment? Overall my thoughts of this title is; It’s an excellent action game set in the Roman Empire, but the main question is; How are they going add the “Assassin’s Creed” into this picture? That question remains to be answered for now.
