Creators of the Battlezone and Rogue Trooper is back again with a new title. Strange Brigade was announced at E3 in june, but now we got the chance to play through a mission at Gamescom.
The best part with games such as Zombie Army Trilogy and now Strange Brigade, you do not have to had tons of experience or have to learn M.I.T stuff to play. There is no tutorial, but you don’t need it. The controls are easy to learn and master, it’s the horde of enemies that you should worry about. The graphics and gameplay is very familiar if you have played Zombie Army Trilogy or the Sniper Elite series; maybe some improvements on the graphics part, either way you won’t be disappointed.
This time we’re in a egyptian setting, with magical mummies, undead hordes and other huge monsters attacking you. As well exploring temples, tombs and dig sites to find the treasure and coins. As previously your arsenal of weapons isn’t big, but it will do the trick. You got yourself a rifle, pistol, shotgun and dynamite, maybe there will be more available at launch. Either than that it’s your skill set to the task, you have the option to shoot at some “balls” to set off traps such as spikes, blades and fire traps.
The gameplay is fast and fun, and hopefully it provides enough challenge on the difficulty and puzzles to be solved interesting to keep players playing on the long term.
There isn’t any confirmed release date yet, but the game will release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Three new vehicles has been announced for the hugely popular PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. During a Reddit AMA developer Brendan Greene said “We have new vehicles planned for the new map!”
PUBG Samba Bus
Now, Greene has tweeted that his team are “Working on three new vehicles” for the game, and added the picture seen above. As you may notice the car is very similar to the VW T1 Samba Bus, with a few things changed, such as the VW logo seen on the front of it’s real life counterpart.
During the AMA, Greene mentioned a few other changes coming to the game. Those included a third map, based around the Adriatic Sea, changes to the blue-zone, as well as a night-time map. Most of these seemed to be very early in development, so there’s absolutely no guarantee they will ever make their way to the full game.
Bandai Namco wanted to make something new in the Naruto video game franchise but with a lack of content from the anime left to use. And since Boruto just have started in the anime they had to make something original. And with that in mind they wanted to make a online game in the franchise. Naruto to Boruto Shinobi Striker is a pvp fighter with elements from the Ultimate Ninja series, with new stuff added.
It will have 4vs4 PvP matches where two teams will fight against each other in different modes like Deathmatch and Capture the flag. It will also have 4vs1 PvE where you will fight together against bosses.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has set a new Steam record. The amount of players playing PUBG has skyrocketed lately, so the fact the number of simultaneous players now has surpassed Dota 2’s “unbreakable” record has now fallen should not come as any major surprise.
This weekend 1349584 persons played PUBG, at the same time, meaning Dota 2’s record of 1291328 players has fallen to second place on the all-time-high list.
That being said, games such as League of Legends is not on the list, as they’re not on Steam. With LoL still holding the record with more than five million players. However, with PUBG’s growing popularity it might not take that long before LoL feels the pressure for most simultaneous players outside of Steam.
I must admit that I don’t have a lot of experience with Dishonored since they released the first game on the PlayStation 3. Me personally found the gameplay was a little too complicated for me at the time, and didn’t found out all the various ways to play this genre.
But Arkane Studio have now announced a new standalone expansion called Dishonored: Death of the Outsider. Just to be clear, you do not have to own a copy of either Dishonored or Dishonored 2. This is exactly the same as this month PlayStation Plus game Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry, a standalone game with it’s own story.
Some key features from the developers
The Ultimate Supernatural Assassin
Stay in the shadows or step into the daylight to take on all foes – the choice is yours. Equipped with a unique set of supernatural abilities, gadgets, and weapons, you can approach each situation in your own way. Use your abilities and skills to sneak through environments unseen or brutally eliminate all opposition in your way.
The Greatest Assassination
Killing the Outsider won’t be easy. You’ll have to journey deep into the seedy underbelly of Karnaca, where you’ll unravel some the city’s lost secrets. Along the way you’ll infiltrate underground fight clubs and black magic cults, and retrieve ancient artifacts in a thrilling bank heist mission that sets the table for your greatest mission ever.
The Definitive Targets
As you hunt down The Outsider, face off against a new cast of enemies along the way. Armed with your weapons, gadgets and abilities, take down deadly foes such as the immortal Envisioned, the relentless Sisters of the Oracular Order and the new Clockwork Soldiers. Up the ante by accepting Contracts to find and eliminate optional targets throughout your mission.
Replay Your Way
Unleash further potential for creative chaos by replaying with some of the signature powers from Dishonored 2 in the Original Game Plus (OG+) mode.
Hands-on impression
I might have been a good or bad person to attend our hands on session with this expansion, as I’ve got little experience with the game. But then again it gives a fresh look at the game for someone else just like me who haven’t played the franchise.
So the demo we got play at Gamescom put us straight into a cutscene to fill us in on what has happened and what we were doing. Without spoiling much of the story let’s begin after the cutscene, our objective was to either get through a locked gate or get over an even larger canyon. (Which I found out after I’d died three times, needed to jump over a ledge) What I could understand there was a few familiar weapons and skills even powers that you might have seen in Dishonored 2, but there was a few new ones as well.
Even though I didn’t understand what I did or what I was suppose to do at the limited time I got to play Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, I must say that this expansion is visually stunning. Controls feels light and fantastic to play and as previous Dishonored games gives you lots of possibilities on how to approach your target or mission. If you are fan of this series or a newcomer you might like this standalone expansion.
Dishonored: Death of the Outsider will release on the PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One 15, September 2017.
Earlier this year Nintendo announced the end of production for Nintendo Classic Mini: NES, at the time the company said they did not have unlimited resources and couldn’t handle the massive demand for the console.
NES Classic
Luckily Nintendo has had a change of heart. In several tweets Nintendo of Europe has confirmed that the mini-NES will make a comeback in the summer 2018. In addition the mini-SNES will also be kept in production and shipped to Europe for 2018. The mini-SNES will be out here in Europe on the 29th of September. But with the news of it’s continuing production there hopefully won’t be the same stress about buying it immediately as it was with the mini-NES.

They wanted to keep it short during the meeting, and rather let us play. So they gave us some minutes to get a feel on the game before getting tasks to do. First we had to choose three vehicles to take with us on a road trip, one land, one air and one water vehicle. This is one of the new features in The Crew 2, that you can now drive planes as well as boats. And the three vehicles you have can you switch between simultaneously. How simultaneously you ask? Well if you drive a car and you jump, mid air you can change to a plane and fly away. Then maybe you fly over water and want to change to a boat and you can. This is a fun mechanic when free roaming around in the game, it makes discovering and coming through places much easier. When we then had learned the basics, it was time to race. We got a chance to try motocross, drift event and formula race. And the game played well, vehicles got a arcade feel so it is easy to drive and have control. Every vehicle is sorted after what they could be used in. you got Street Cars, Drift Cars, Race Cars, Motocross Bikes, Stunt Planes and Race Boats.
This was just the ones that we got to see during the demonstration, and more will maybe be in the full game or added later.
The Crew 2 looks promising, it looked beautiful with a detailed world with a lot to do. Not much was shown about how to progress in the game. More information will come later
State of Decay 2 is a sequel to the very popular Xbox 360 title of the same name. The original State of Decay had players battling in a single player experience with fellow survivors, forging communities in the zombie apocalypse.
Its sequel is taking the action adventure survival game online, with players able to team up and work together to battle against the zombie horde. Players will be able to enjoy the game solo or with up to three friends. And we got the chance to see some gameplay.
The gameplay that was being shown was a save file they started that day and see how it would go through the day. So when we sat down the settlement had just been attacked and was badly wounded. People had died or was hurt and they was running low on supplies, so they needed to head out to gather more stuff. They wanted to show the multiplayer also so he wanted another one join the game. When heading out they encountered some people that was being attacked by zombies. So they had to make a choice to help them or leave them. They chose to help them to maybe get some useful workforce in their settlement. So they want to head back to the settlement to get them some medical attention. And we got to see that everything can happen at all time. When arriving they got attacked at the gate since security is down from the last attack. So when the danger is eliminated they are told that one of the settlers that was hurt during the last attack, is fatally ill and will soon turn if actions is not taken. So then you had the choice to kill him (take him out of misery), or try to find a cure (chance of him turning and destroy your settlement) or you could exile him from the settlement (leaving him by himself that could make a situation later)
So they asked us what we wanted them to do
Kill
Find a cure
Exile
All of us agree and said kill.
So you always has to make choices to survive and keep your settlement safe and healthy. Some good and some bad. It looks like it will be a massive world, with many different outcomes and scenarios happening that you can never predict.
Capcom confirmed today that Monster Hunter: World is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 26th of January, 2018. A PC release will also follow, although on a later unknown date.
The TGS trailer shows the wild and variety of creatures featured in-game. Creatures such as the lizard-ish Pukei-Pukei, to the terrifying monster Nergigante.
Players that pre-order the game (in Europe) will get access to special pre-order bonuses, including the Origin Set Armor and the Fair Wind Charm talisman.
The physical collector’s edition will include the game, a voucher for the “Deluxe Kit”, as well as an art book, a flagship monster statue and the soundtrack on CD.
Call of Cthulhu is an upcoming role-playing survival horror video game developed by Cyanide and published by Focus Home Interactive for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game features a semi-open world environment and will incorporate themes of Lovecraftian and psychological horror into a story which includes elements of investigation and stealth. It is based on H. P. Lovecraft’s short story «The Call of Cthulhu«
We got an early look at the upcoming game
And from what I could see, it looks like it will be a giant pile of mind bending psychological horror. Which have been really popular in recent time but it might be one to stand out in the crowd.
The game follows private investigator Edward Pierce as he investigates the death of an entire family on Darkwater Island near Boston, Massachusetts, and discovers the impending revival of the Great Old One Cthulhu.
When arriving, the investigation begins and searching for clues is essential. Your actions will affect how the people will look at you and respond to you. You can search for clues that can give you information that again open opportunities when interrogating people. You can play the game like you want and take on quests in any given order. Your actions will also affect your sanity level, that will change how you see things around you.
This is what I got shown during the gameplay presentation and what we know at the moment.
It looks promising that we got to see during Gamescom 2017 and I wished I could get to see more.
Released date is set to winter 2017 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC
