Call of Cthulhu is an upcoming role-playing survival horror video game developed by Cyanide and published by Focus Home Interactive for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game features a semi-open world environment and will incorporate themes of Lovecraftian and psychological horror into a story which includes elements of investigation and stealth. It is based on H. P. Lovecraft’s short story “The Call of Cthulhu“
We got an early look at the upcoming game
And from what I could see, it looks like it will be a giant pile of mind bending psychological horror. Which have been really popular in recent time but it might be one to stand out in the crowd.
The game follows private investigator Edward Pierce as he investigates the death of an entire family on Darkwater Island near Boston, Massachusetts, and discovers the impending revival of the Great Old One Cthulhu.
When arriving, the investigation begins and searching for clues is essential. Your actions will affect how the people will look at you and respond to you. You can search for clues that can give you information that again open opportunities when interrogating people. You can play the game like you want and take on quests in any given order. Your actions will also affect your sanity level, that will change how you see things around you.
This is what I got shown during the gameplay presentation and what we know at the moment.
It looks promising that we got to see during Gamescom 2017 and I wished I could get to see more.
