When we attended Gamescom I got the pleasure of meeting up with 505 Games to get a look at their upcoming game Control.
“You are Jesse Faden, a young woman with a troubled past. You become the new Director of the Bureau of Control – Our frontline in researching and fighting against supernatural enemies like the Hiss threatening our very existence. You’ll uncover the secret activities of the Bureau agents and explore the strange and shifting halls of the Bureau’s headquarters, The Oldest House.” – about the game
The game is a metroidvania-like, with lots of locked areas at first, which will open once you unlock different skills. It will also feature lots of exploration. From the quick look we got at Control, it certainly has a creepy factor to it – in a good way. It also seemed like you could pick up almost any object and throw it at enemies. In addition Jesse seemed to have an ability to make a shield (which in my mind seemed a bit overpowered) – a shield that could withstand pretty much anything. We also learned that the game features lots of side quests, but that there was no time showing us any of those now.
