Big Bad Wolf has finally released the second episode of The Council, Hide and Seek. It’s been two long months since I played episode one, where the cliffhanger made the wait almost unbearable. Could the new episode live up to the expectations?

Story
The second episode starts out with Louis finally meeting Lord Mortimer, although under less than fortunate circumstitions. I won’t go into detail of what is discussed (for obvious spoiler reasons), but it’s soon obvious that Mortimer and Sir Holm have been noticing Louis’ previous actions.
Although the rest of the episode has little story, there are some puzzle sections where Louis gets to learn more about his mother’s stay at Lord Mortimer’s estate. Along with interactions with some of the other guests, yet none of those interactions seemed important to the story.
Unfortunately most of the episode feels most like a filler, and it wasn’t until the end I felt intrigued by what could happen next. It must be said that, as with the first episode, the ending cliffhanger is well made, and I once again find myself struggling to cope with the waiting time.

Verdict
As with other episodic games, every episode will only get a story-review, with the rest of the usual sections being covered in the review of the first episode. A few things I would like to mention here though, is the fact that the puzzles are a bit too difficult for my liking (it might be the fact that I usually played this game at night, with most of my energy coming from a chug of Monster, but it got to the point of me being tempted to give up). The episode currently stutters a lot, and Louis’ movement can suddenly stop, for example while walking, so he just glides across the floor instead.
